Our Founders
The Tumut Cycle Classic first took off in 2015 with the help of the founder Dr Tarek Sari and the co-founder Dr Osman Darwich along with the support of the Sydney Muslim Cyclists (SMC).
Dr Sari and 50 SMC members rode in the first ever Tumut Cycle Classic along with approximately 50 local Tumut Cyclists raising just under $5000 for two paediatric stethoscopes and an oxygen saturation machine for the birthing unit and paediatric ward of the Tumut Hospital.
Fast forward to today, the Tumut Cycle Classic is well on its way to smash the $270,000 mark raised for the local Tumut Hospital and has established itself as one of the most picturesque rides on the cycling calendar.

Tumut Cycle Classic is a cycling event in the scenic Snowy Mountains with breathtaking views as well as challenging climbs, to suit riders of all abilities.
Tumut Cycle Classic attracts up to 500 riders along with their families from all over Australia who stay in the local hotels and motels further supporting the local community.
